Bettona stands on a "natural terrace" overlooking the Valle Umbra, near the confluence of the rivers Chiascio and Topino and not far from the Tiber. From the top of its hill you can see Assisi, Spello, Cannara, Bevagna, Torgiano and Perugia.

Located in Piazza Cavour, the Museum of the City of Bettona is housed in the Palazzo del Podestà and Palazzo Biancalana. The first was built in 1371 as part of the reconstruction of the city ordered by Cardinal Albornoz, the second, nineteenth century, was a noble residence with a neoclassical style. The collection, linked to local history, includes two distinct sections.
